The Director of Major Gifts will manage a portfolio of donors and prospects for the School of Architecture. The selected candidate will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects believed to be capable of making leadership and major gifts ($100,000+) in support of the School and its $65 million campaign goal as part of the University of Virginia's Honor the Future campaign. The incumbent will be expected to meet defined visit, proposal, and solicitation goals, and to work closely with team members, volunteers, and other stakeholders to achieve those goals. The incumbent will attend fundraising events and assist with donor stewardship.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and at least three years of previous fundraising experience (five years preferred), with a demonstrated ability to successfully solicit and secure major gifts ($100,000 up to $1,000,000).
The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. University Advancement is open to considering candidates who would work remotely.
