Job Summary

Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the information technology department. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Responsibilities
  • Leads planning and implementation of assigned projects.
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates project kick-off meetings, workshops, and other meeting formats within the scope of the project.
  • Defines project plans including scope, tasks, resources, schedules, budgets, risks, etc. using standard project management tools.
  • Tracks project deliverables, expenditures, and continously monitors progress, quality, and budget.
  • Implements and manages project change management, risk management, and mitigation actions to achieve project success.
  • Performs appropriate project closure that includes evaluation, assessment of results and closure documents.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and at least 7 years of experience in the field or related area.

Project Management Professional ( PMP) Certification may be required depending on area of assignment.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences
  • 6+ years of experience with large, cross-functional IT projects.
  • IT infrastructure implementation experience including new building construction (drawings, cabling standards, network equipment, MDF/IDF design, voice services, budgets, vendor relationships, timelines, etc.)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Professional experience in Higher Education
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and diplomatic ability
  • ServiceNow project management platform experience
