The Department of Business Analytics & Statistics at the University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business invites applications for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position at the lecturer or senior lecturer level starting on or before August 1, 2024. The position's primary responsibility will be teaching. Additional responsibilities will include curriculum development and refinement, committee service, and working with students outside the classroom. The typical workload for this position includes teaching 3-4 classes per semester.

The Department of Business Analytics and Statistics is one of seven departments within the Haslam College of Business. The department offers bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees in Business Analytics, leads the Intercollegiate Graduate Statistics and Data Science Program, and houses the Data Science and Engineering Ph.D. program director. The department's full-time graduate program in Business Analytics received the 2018 INFORMS Smith Prize, and its undergraduate Business Analytics program is ranked 15th nationally among public universities by U.S. News & World Report. The Business Analytics faculty emphasizes working with businesses to apply analytics to real-world challenges. The department includes 19 tenured or tenure-track faculty, many of whom serve in editorial positions at leading journals and have been recognized with international awards, including the Edelman Award and the Wagner Prize, and 9 full-time non-tenure track faculty.

Qualifications

A master's degree or higher (Ph.D. preferred) in Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Management Science, or a closely related field, including foreign equivalents.

College-level teaching experience as the primary instructor for at least one course, with a preference for someone who has taught business analytics, statistics, or similar courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Successful completion of a background check.

The rank of lecturer or senior lecturer will be determined at time of hire and will depend upon the degree held and the extent of prior teaching experience.
