Job Description

The Research Equipment Operations Team is seeking a Research Engineering Technician I to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work in our cutting-edge laboratory facilities and will provide journeyman-level monitoring, troubleshooting and repairs to a wide variety of component-based systems. The goal is to provide preventative maintenance, service, and replacement tasks to multi-discipline research equipment. The key focus of these positions is preventative maintenance/preemptive repairs to lessen unscheduled equipment downtime, thus removing obstacles from research.

Responsibilities:
Provide journeyman level monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs to a wide variety of component-based systems. This includes but is not limited to sterilizers, cage and bottle washers, water treatment and distribution systems, chemical pumps, environmental chambers, refrigeration systems, heating systems, systems, incubators and their associated components.
Properly operate multiple test instruments, including electrical multi-meters, Meggers, differential pressure gauges, temperature meters, water testing equipment, refrigeration equipment, leak detectors, micron gauges, and refractometers, to aid in data gathering and direct decision-making.
Operate various electric and dehumidification hand tools, such as saws, cutters, wrenches, grinders, torches, threaders, and drill motors, to prepare various equipment and materials for removal and installation.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and manufacturers regarding parts, repairs, and troubleshooting.
Document and disseminate equipment maintenance, deficiencies, and repairs to stakeholders in the appropriate manner.

Shift

Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.00-$33.18 per hour

Grade: GGS-008
