Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks an innovative and collaborative full-time, mid-level librarian to serve as the Department's medical and data sciences librarian.

This position will work independently in the department and be part of a large academic health system. The non-tenure track faculty Librarian will serve and foster dynamic relationships with clinicians, health professionals, faculty, and students. Ideally, the librarian should possess extensive skills in delivering medical and scientific literature searches and systematic reviews. The Librarian performs professional level responsibilities encompassing library science, information management, and information technology. This position may also include instruction, outreach, collection development, technical troubleshooting, and supplementary support of library operations. Willingness to gain expertise via formal training will be supported.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualfications

Master's degree from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent archival degree. Requires 3-5 years of experience/comparable professional library
experience.

Canidates will be evaluated on:

Library/archives experience, particularly work experience in a health sciences or scientific research library or institutional archive.

Knowledge and experience in the following areas:
• Systematic reviews
• Extensive experience conducting literature searches within medical databases
• Reference management experience (preferably EndNote)
• Knowledge of the article publication process to support scholarship
• Knowledge of the NIH and other agencies public access policy (including the new data management access policy) and how to be compliant
• Microsoft 365 application experience (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
