Job Description

Under the direction of the Director for Conflict of Interest, this position uses judgment in decision-making to perform a wide variety of specialized and complex administrative functions while ensuring confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
  • This position is responsible for the review of conflict of interest/conflict of commitment disclosures ensuring an understanding of reported activities, evaluating the risk to the institution, suggesting, and documenting potential management strategies. They will work with the director on any potential unmanageable activities.
  • Evaluate reporting structures, setting the appropriate chair/supervisor and dean/directors for review of COI/COC forms, elevating concerns to the COI director. Ensuring permission levels with the electronic system are current and accurate. Ensuring spreadsheets are maintained and providing updates to other team members.
  • Drafting letters to employees regarding external activities ensuring employees are aware of necessary management.
  • This position creates reports providing detailed information to chairs and deans and administrators.
  • This position reviews awards and external activities ensuring compliance with funding agency requirements. Documents the analysis, presents to COI small group committee, and records the summary for compliance with the federal regulations. Ensure investigators on federal awards maintain current required training.
  • Have and maintain an excellent understanding of the federal regulations, Collected Rules, and Regulations, and any other applicable polices or regulations. Provide education as needed.
  • Have and maintain an excellent understanding of processes, the electronic system, and other systems to ensure efficiency of the COI Office while considering the impact on associated departments and the university. Ensure permission levels within the electronic system are current for chairs, deans, and user groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $50,367 – $65,000

Grade: GGS-010
