Overview
This position will provide high level administrative and analytical support through a multi-faceted role within Supply Chain Services that performs general supply chain functions including procurement, materials/inventory management, and master data quality management in support of Southern Star's daily operations. Functions within this role typically include, but are not limited to, performing significant software entry in the Oracle ERP software application, including receiving, material transactions, requisitions, and performing general materials/inventory management functions that include cycle counts, asset recovery, and Master Data Governance. The position communicates daily with Southern Star offices and field personnel and external suppliers to resolve material related deficiencies and ensure customer satisfaction. Position will utilize financial systems and maintain electronic and paper files and records.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Material Management
- Assisting in detailed planning for material/inventory management
- Completing appropriate material transactions in Company's financial software
- Assisting purchases as requested in contacting vendors regarding variances toward quantity, quality and delivery of materials, receipts for delivery of goods and ensures accuracy in delivery
- Entering data and capable of solving complex issues in computer programs as required
- Assisting warehouse personnel in solving problems regarding identification of merchandise
- Maintaining daily communication with office and field personnel and external suppliers to identify needs and ensure customer satisfaction
- Utilizing financial systems and maintain electronic and paper files and records per the Company's Business Records Retention and Destruction Policy
- Scheduling, planning, and performing inventory cycle counts across the system
Procurement
- Performing general procurement functions in support of Southern Star's work sites including, but not limited to reviewing requisitions or transactions for proper content and quality, issuing & administering requests, issuing & administering orders, expediting orders, and assisting other personnel in the efficient procurement of goods and services.
- Reviewing requisitions of inventory replenishment, fleet equipment, and non-complex project development items to obtain the greatest benefit from Company expenditures
- Preparing and administering Requests for Proposals & Quotations, including preparation of materials, supplier qualifications, proposal reviews
- Monitoring and ensuring supplier delivery commitments are fulfilled as promised and that materials are delivered to the job site as required
- Preparing and administering requisitions for Repairable Spares Process as well as entering transactions in Oracle related to those items
Master Data Management / Governance
- Supporting Southern Star's operations by monitoring and analyzing Supply Chain related master data including, but not limited to supplier data and material data to ensure data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Providing material master data setup, validations, and periodic maintenance
- Ensuring data quality, compliance, and consistency of material master data across business systems
- Working with business units and process experts to resolve data issues
- Identifying areas for master data quality improvements and resolving data quality problems through process control and improvement or process design
Qualifications
Minimum
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of industry-related work experience.
- Strong customer service, verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
- Knowledge of and/or experience with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Self-starter, able to work with little to no supervision
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in relevant subjects
- Knowledge of oil and gas and/or construction related products
- Experience with Oracle ERP
- Experience with Materials/Inventory Management, Purchasing, or other Supply Chain fields
