Position Summary

Instructor - Regular Non-Tenure Track

Primary Responsibilities
The candidate will teach courses, assist with curriculum development and accreditation processes, and advise undergraduate students in interior design. In addition, the candidate will assist with student recruitment, engage in university and community service activities, serve on departmental/college/university committees, participate in professional organizations and network with representatives from the interior design industry and business community.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree with five years of industry experience and NCIDQ certification OR a master's degree and demonstrated eligibility or willingness to take the NCIDQ certification exam. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government-certified university.)
  • One degree in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture
  • Demonstrated relevant industry and/or teaching experience
  • Knowledge of computer-aided drafting and illustration programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial and residential building codes
  • Evidence of involvement in professional organizations
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
  • Demonstrated potential for providing effective service to the department, college, and university
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal and external constituencies
