GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for developing, promoting, and delivering service activities and other programming initiatives to OSUIT students in order to foster effective university and campus community connections and improved student retention. Formulate creative ideas to better support and service OSUIT students throughout their entire college experience, integrating with Student Services, academic programs and other service areas across OSUIT. Will identify, track and follow-up with students who may be at-risk, monitor course activity and provide support to these students. The Student Success Facilitator will also assist in campus visit & event aspects of student recruitment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to the Special Event & Retention Coordinator in fulfilling functions related to the overall team efforts, responsibilities and success of all student recruitment and retention initiatives.
Collaborate with academic and student services departments to develop strategies and initiatives that contribute to the retention of students.
Supervise, evaluate and provide training for Peer Mentors student group.
Provide student success support services to students and potential students of the university including, but not limited to, assistance with orientation, assessment, enrollment, schedule and website interpretation, transfer information, financial aid and connections to student activities, follow-up and outreach services.
Assists with follow-up of students who have been notified through the Early Alert system for excessive absences, unsatisfactory grades, etc; contacts students who have been notified through the Early Alert system.
Contacts and connects prospective and continuing students with student support resources designed to sustain their success.
Prepares and disseminates routine correspondence, documents and/or reports.
Performs a variety of general clerical and office support function in support of assigned Strategic Enrollment programs and operations.
Types/inputs, checks, validates, compiles and records a variety of data and information.
Performs other related duties similar in scope and function as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university required. Other combinations of education and work experience may be considered if relevant.
Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
Work experience in higher education or similar environment preferred.
Demonstrated leadership abilities including the development of short and long-term goal setting and achievement and the ability to train and motivate staff towards results.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations; ability to communicate and work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and external constituents.
Ability to make presentations and speak effectively before groups.
Experience in supervising student staff.
Ability to work well individually and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Willingness and ability to work irregular hours, including light travel and weekend/evening work is required.
Must be able to effectively contribute in a dynamic, team environment.
A positive "can-do" attitude along with a professional appearance and demeanor should be modeled at all times.
Must have a willingness to continually self-initiate learning to remain current in expertise.
Should be able to quickly grasp and apply training in learning new skills and methods.

Strong organizational skills as well as a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment along with ability to develop and deliver oral presentations and written materials for a variety of audiences and multiple venues.
Strong verbal communication skills to include one-on-one, group presentation and facilitation skills are essential to candidate's success.
Excellent written communication and listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.
Valid Oklahoma driver's license is required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
A flexible work schedule may be required occasionally to meet client demands and special programming needs.
Travel may be required.
Normal office physical environment; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
