PROGRAM SPECIALIST Trade and Industrial Education Cosmetology/Barbering & Graphic Arts, Audio, Visual Programs Responsible for duties associated with the supervision of Career and Technology Education Programs and Teachers in Trade and Industrial education. The position requires a continuous improvement philosophy for all tasks and assignments as well as the ability to interpret data to discover improvement opportunities. This position requires moderate travel within the state, and occasional out of state conferences and benchmarking. Bachelor's degree or approved degree plan required. Master degree preferred. Three years in teaching in one of the assigned areas and/or administrative experience in Trade and Industrial Education or equivalent industry experience required. Requires valid driver's license and teaching certificate in one of the specialty areas, state approved certifications, national certification or licenses in specialty area. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a willingness and ability to travel. Knowledge of school administration and school laws helpful. Computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office or comparable software. Ability to use a variety of software and hardware or equipment directly used in program specialty areas. A working knowledge in specialty areas. Be able to prioritize a variety of numerous events to reasonably cover projects and fulfill deadlines. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Position based in Stillwater, OK. Duties/Essential Functions: * Provide customer service support for Trade & Industrial Education experiences for assigned region, technical assistance and problem solving to meet local program needs for State Program Areas assigned within Cosmetology, Barbering, Graphic Arts, Audio/Visual programs and related areas. * Travel to all schools within the assigned region of Oklahoma and serve as the initial T&I contact and customer service provider for instructors and administrators. * Serve as the Arts & Audio/Visual Career Cluster Team Leader for the division and the state agency. * Utilize industry data, trends, and certification/licensure requirements to develop, revise, and align the state programs within the Careertech Instructional Framework. * Serve as a resource and coach to ensure new teachers make a successful transition from industry professional to teaching professional. * Provide leadership, recommendations and assistance on innovative approaches for instruction, delivery and continuous improvement strategies to build and maintain program quality. * Establish and/or maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with key industry employers, statewide organizations and agencies to promote and/or assure CareerTech continues to lead in workforce development. * Plan and implement high impact professional development training and technical assistance for teachers and staff based on priorities and needs. * Administer specialized hands-on occupational examinations to instructors as required for teacher certification. * Coordination and administration guidance, management and leadership to the SkillsUSA student organizations and assist with student conference activities. Salary/Benefits: $51,985-$58,421 commensurate with education or experience.
