Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $50,441- $63,051 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: The Program Coordinator in Workforce Development & Continuing Education is responsible for developing, managing, and promoting open enrollment courses and related instructional services. The Program Coordinator hires and supervises CE instructors across multiple content areas. The Coordinator works with other Coordinators and CE staff to drive efficient branch operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment with tight timelines and competing priorities. This position requires competencies in program management, personnel development, and marketing/promotions.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in any subject in order for the employee to understand the culture, mission, and value a higher education degree provides to an individual and the community. Four years of experience in program coordination, office management, or related experience. Experience in higher education may substitute for degree. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree, a strong interest in continuing education, and at least one year of supervisory experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • HIRE, ONBOARD & SUPERVISE CE INSTRUCTORS Recruit instructors, maintain instructor information (400+ active in CE branch), onboard instructors, observe classes, review course evaluations, provide feedback.
  • RESEARCH & DEVELOP NEW OPEN ENROLLMENT PROGRAMMING Use market analysis processes and tools to identify gaps that can be addressed through new programs. Meet with partners, vendors, advisory boards and contacts in industry to identify subject matter experts/instructors who will help create/implement new courses, including certifications and certificates as appropriate.
  • SCHEDULE & IMPLEMENT ONGOING OPEN ENROLLMENT PROGRAMMING Evaluate current courses and programs, including certifications and certificates as appropriate. Schedule courses and submit/proof course information for online/print materials. Work with marketing staff to promote all programs/courses. Know curriculum and consult with students. Develop and maintain information on local, regional, and national resources. Maintain current knowledge and adherence to regulations relating to specialized programs. Review, analyze and make decisions based on internal and external reports.
  • SUPPORT EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE OPERATIONS Assist in development and implementation of JCCC and CE processes and procedures. Leverage knowledge of systems to analyze needs/resources and manage efficiently.
  • SPECIAL PROJECTS Prepare special reports/handle special projects upon request.
