Duties:
- Oversees all accounting functions.
- Prepares monthly financial statements… “ the close”, related board reports and presents them monthly to the board of directors.
- Prepares, implements, and controls annual budget in a timely manner.
- Prepares, implements, and delivers annual audit according to the schedule provided by our audit firm.
- Oversees payroll preparation, accounts payable verification and payment, general ledger and bank reconciliation's, and financial statements data input.
- Prepares monthly journal entries.
- Oversees company employee benefits, property, liability, D & O liability, and Workers’ Compensation insurance policies.
- Updates and maintains employee personnel records, assists leadership with all personnel issues.
- Maintains asset inventories and depreciation schedule.
- Supervises accounting staff personnel.
- Arranges aspects of car donations, which may include pickups, notifying Directors of the donation, distributes appropriate paperwork to donors, and coordinates with person receiving the donation.
- Maintains software on required general ledger accounts.
- Oversees all banking functions and invests/deposits Mission funds in accordance with Board’s directives in coordination with the CEO.
- Maintains accounting and bank system to manage student accounts for the student programs of the Mission.
- Works with COO to manage and equip businesses under the umbrella of John 3:16 Mission.
- Works with Development to reconcile bank statements with donor database records and prepare reports specific to donor projects.
- Attend Mission meetings and functions.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Have a four-year degree in accounting. CPA Preferred.
- Have five years or more in similar positions managing finances, personnel and administrative operations-preferably in non-profit or church related organization.
- Computer literate, fluent in accounting software systems, and fluent in excel.
- Nonprofit business experience a plus.
- Possess a concern for those we serve.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Self starter with ability to work without supervision, decisive with good judgment in solid business practices.
- Attention to detail is a must!
