Vice President of Student Access and Success  

Published or Revised March 27, 2024 This position is the chief student services officer of the College and has overall responsibility for providing leadership, management, and supervision for student services programs, student services personnel, student financial aid, recruiting and retention, enrollment management, residence halls and student life, working to respond to student needs, and fostering institutional development.  Responsible for student development and support services at all off-campus sites, including student services in the on-line program. Applicant must have a master’s degree required in higher education, counseling/student services, a teaching discipline aligned with the College’s instructional program, or a closely related field; doctoral degree preferred.  Five years increasingly responsible management and supervisory experience in one or more areas of student services and experience with at least three years of experience at the dean’s level (or equivalent) or higher.  Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to the community college mission and purpose; teaching and learning; high academic standards, and student success.  Knowledge and understanding of student development theory and programs.  Demonstrated understanding of and experience with the assessment of student learning outcomes and educational support outcomes.  Strong computer skills. This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee.  Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability.  Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas or Optional Retirement Program, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program.  Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
