Haverford College invites applications for our part-time (30 hours per week), non-exempt, benefits-eligible Program Coordinator opportunity. This is a renewable one-year, fixed-term position.

About Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA)

The IDEA Division facilitates co-cultivation of a campus community(ies) where everyone is affirmed, uplifted, and are able to bring their whole selves in living, learning, teaching, and working together as a fundamental vision towards justice and liberation. The Program Coordinator is a position within the IDEA Division.

About the Position
The Program Coordinator of the Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Access Division (IDEA) provides programmatic and administrative support in advancing the strategic priorities and goals of the division and the College. The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Equity and Access and the divisional team to implement activities and opportunities to cultivate an inclusive, equitable, ethically responsive, and accessible environment for all constituencies.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and implementation of divisional programs, including but not limited to Civil Rights Trip, Journeys of Reconciliation, and THRIVE programs and conferences, and regular programs
  • Collaborate with IDEA team and campus partners as a thought leader and contributor of divisional engagement efforts
  • Coordinate the planning and logistics of convening affinity groups, councils, and meetings facilitated by the IDEA Division
  • Provide operational and logistics support for campus-wide IDEA trainings, workshops, and events
  • Design content material, including email newsletters, event promotional materials, social media posts, and resource tools
  • Serve as a resource, collaborator, and bridge builder to campus constituencies in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access
  • Provide support and guidance to IDEA Student Advisory Council, IDEA Student Associates, and DEIA councils
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Line of Report: The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Equity and Access.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two years of experience implementing programs and events
Professional Competencies
  • Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of working with diverse populations
  • Experience with managing multiple projects and timely delivery
  • Exceptional communication skill, including ability to create written and electronic content, and the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the institution
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to problem-solve with sound judgment and self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Technologically adept and comfortable with a variety of electronic platforms and apps
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with project and event management
  • Experience with working in higher education
  • Familiarity with programmatic and business processes in an academic setting
