Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a passionate go-getter like you to leverage your previous success in coaching leaders, designing and training continuous improvement methodologies and practices, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and evaluate key processes to identify improvement opportunities throughout the organization. You will collaborate with functional leaders to generate cross-functional teams, map process workflows, identify pain points and gaps, remove waste and implement solutions. In this role, you will manage all aspects of projects from inception through project closure. You will utilize your influencing and negotiation skills to facilitate challenging multi-disciplinary teams, mentor team leads and navigate team dynamics. You will research and identify benchmarks and best practices in support of team efforts. You will design and deliver new continuous improvement and change management training materials to offer continuing CI education. You will mentor and coach embedded CI resources to successfully apply CI methodology and tools. You will assist leaders and team with establishment of key performance indicators and measures to demonstrate gaps, improvements and team success. You will track progress towards overall organization efficiency and quality goals.
This is an exciting role that allows you to learn key processes in all areas of German American Bank and develop the continuous improvement culture, positively impacting our internal team and external customers. This independent role requires excellent communication, organization, influencing and conflict resolution skills. A strong candidate has three plus years’ experience in banking, baseline knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement, is a process thinker, strong facilitator and mentor.
Travel Required:
Travel within the German American footprint to work with project teams is required, as well as travel for conferences and other activities as needed. Travel will be up to 30% depending on your location in the German American footprint.
What You’ll Do:
- The Daily Grind – Your focus will be acting as the change agent, coaching, mentoring and influencing at all levels to facilitate teams and educate leaders and employees in support of developing the CI culture. To do this, you will collaborate with leaders and employees across all functions of the enterprise. You will leverage your previous experiences to help us gain operational efficiencies, conduct benchmarking to identify best practices and emerging financial service trends and technologies, ensuring operational standards evolve to meet changing customer and regulatory demands. Acting as a coach and sharing your technical expertise about continuous improvement principles and practices, you will assist in developing team training, CI tools, and supporting materials to support CI initiatives. You will also present findings and recommendations to line of business leaders.
- You’re Part of a Team – You are a member of the Technology & Operations Team which touches all aspects of the organization. This role offers amazing insight into all areas of banking and operations.
- And you have to be able to juggle – Multiple and conflicting priorities will come up under specific time constraints. In concert with your leader, you have to be quick to act when issues arise.
What it Takes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, Finance, or Management OR equivalent work experience
- Skills in: strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to engage all levels in the organization, conflict management, negotiation skills, excellent presentation and training skills, networking and building diverse & inclusive relationships, listening, analyzing data and discerning trends, communicating effectively, maintaining confidentiality, motivating and coaching others, making timely decisions, thinking critically – balancing customer experience and business needs, solving complex problems, influencing team members, and overcoming objections.
- Ability to: adapt, get along with others, lead projects from brainstorm through implementation, make successful presentations, facilitate, research, analyze and grasp information quickly, prioritize, organize and plan projects, achieve goals, give and receive feedback, assess needs, use available resources and partnerships to solve problems, accept responsibility, prioritize, accept and implement corporate strategies, and work independently and as a team member.
- Knowledge of: financial service operations, products, services, and regulatory requirements.
