Required Skills
Grant Writer Qualifications
- Excellent expository writing, research, and organization skills.
- BA/BS from accredited college or university in the pertinent subject matter (Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, Behavioral Health or Social Sciences) or pertinent skills (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English); or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience. Graduate Degree, a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with writing grants across multiple funding sectors for a variety of population types is preferred.
- Knowledge of Funding requirements
- Experience with multi-million dollar grants as well as statewide
- Extensive experience with EOHHS funded agencies, federal funds (i.e., SAMSHA, Health, and Human Services
- Cultural Sensitivity and Competence are important success factors
- Familiarity with social/behavioral health services,
- Facility with key computer programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in quantitative data analysis and presentation would be highly welcome.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and reliability in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment.
