Reports to: Fine Arts Content Manager & Director of Operations & Programs
Pay Range: $37,000 - $42,000
Summary:
The Fine Arts Program Coordinator is a self-starter, connector, communicator, and organizer who is team oriented and has a passion for supporting fine arts in public education and Tulsa. Enjoys organization and working with multiple groups of people to implement exciting programs for students. Understands the complexity of working with multiple stakeholders at the same time. Demonstrates exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Collaborates with Tulsa Public Schools staff, community partners, and Foundation staff to plan, organize, coordinate, manage, and execute fine arts initiatives, in particular the Any Given Child program. This position is based in Tulsa.
Organization Background:
The Foundation for Tulsa Schools was founded in 2001 through a merger of the Tulsa Education Fund and Tulsa Public Schools Foundation. Our purpose is to support our students and educators at Tulsa Public Schools. Any Given Child Background:
The goal of Any Given Child, a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, is to assist communities in developing a plan for expanded arts education in their schools ensuring access and equity for all students in grades K-8. In May of 2011, Tulsa was chosen as the 5th city in the nation to become part of the Any Given Child program. We believe that all Tulsa Public Schools students must have equal access to sustained, high quality learning in the visual and performing arts. Through this program, every K-8 Tulsa Public Schools student engages in live arts experiences through partnerships across the community and with arts-specialists who integrate the arts into ongoing classroom learning. Any Given Child connects students to the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the Any Given Child-Tulsa program:
- Annual creation of the Any Given Child-Tulsa field trip schedule.
- Creation of Any Given Child-Tulsa materials, such as the Site Coordinator Handbook.
- Planning, organization, and facilitation of Any Given Child-Tulsa field trips.
- Scheduling, planning, organizing, and facilitating Any Given Child-Tulsa meetings, including the annual Community Arts Team convening.
- Implementation of yearly Any Given Child-Tulsa action steps determined by the Community Arts Team.
- Any Given Child-Tulsa communications between district administration, site coordinators, teachers, school leaders, the Tulsa Public Schools transportation department, and arts partner organizations.
- Any Given Child-Tulsa data collection and evaluation.
- Create annual Any Given Child Impact Report.
- Manage Any Given Child-Tulsa social media accounts.
- Manage scheduling and paperwork for artist experiences in classrooms.
- Provide additional support for the Fine Arts Department at Tulsa Public Schools.
- Provide support for the ARTrageous Fundraising Gala including coordinating student art and performances for the event.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in art education, arts history, fine arts, education or related required.
- 3-5 years experience in arts education preferred.
- Passion for the fine arts and public education.
- Commitment to the mission of the Foundation for Tulsa Schools.
- Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexible schedule to allow for occasional evening and weekend events.
