Maintenance Technician
Our Maintenance Technicians are critical members of the Dakota Commercial team and are responsible for maintenance of all properties managed by Dakota Commercial. Full-time flexible position with some on-call nights/weekends - rotating schedule. Work vehicle provided. It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Technician to provide basic tools.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Prepare vacant units, getting them ready for new occupants
· Ability to make minor repairs to buildings, heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, flooring and other general repairs
· Ensure the properties have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation and all are in good, working condition
· Determine materials and supplies needed
· Parking lot cleanup including garbage pick up
· Maintain open communication with property owners and property managers for information regarding operations, renovations, and authorizations
· Develop and maintain a good relationship with contractors, vendors, and site workers
· Landscaping maintenance
Knowledge/Abilities:
· Must be self-starter with valid driver's license
· Knowledge in maintenance supplies, equipment, materials and methods used in light maintenance
· Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
· Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people including fellow employees, residents, and contractors
· Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks
· Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds on a regular basis and, on occasion, to lift up to 100 pounds
· Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
· General technical skills
