Neuromodulation Research Assistant
Job Description:
Butler Hospital’s TMS Clinic and growing Neuromodulation Research Facility is seeking a fast-learning and highly organized person to serve as a neuromodulation research assistant (RA) within our research team. The position involves using different types of noninvasive brain stimulation techniques like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and other investigational devices on research protocols exploring the effects on mood and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and other neuropsychiatric disorders. This RA will be trained in administering cognitive and behavioral tasks with assessments using an array of software platforms. Research also involves collecting EEG using multiple systems and other areas of biomarker development such as cardiac monitoring, MRI imaging, and neuronavigation.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal communication skills are essential as duties involve interacting with research participants.
• Strong organization and writing skills.
• Experience with psychiatric patients or bio-behavioral or biomedical research desirable, but not required.
