Overview: As our Bakery Manager, you'll be at the helm of the bakery department, ensuring top-notch customer service, efficient operations, and a focus on quality and cleanliness. Reporting to the Store Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving sales and upholding company standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by warmly greeting each customer and efficiently processing their orders at the Bakery counter.
  • Ensure you and your team consistently follow Red Shirt Service guidelines, maintaining a pleasant and accurate demeanor at all times.
  • Promote bakery products effectively through engaging selling sessions, answering questions, and assisting customers with special requests.
  • Maintain strict adherence to proper receiving procedures, credit policies, and shortage/damage protocols.
  • Oversee sanitation and food safety processes, guaranteeing 100% compliance to ensure the well-being of customers and teammates.
  • Monitor operations closely to ensure optimal service levels and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, prioritize assignments, and follow up to ensure completion for smooth daily operations.
  • Manage inventory levels by ordering products to meet business needs and adhere to inventory guidelines.
  • Ensure timely processing of department paperwork, utilizing department tablets for efficient communication and paperwork processing.
  • Conduct accurate departmental inventories according to corporate schedules, monitoring daily and weekly reports.
  • Attend department manager meetings, sales meetings, and huddle ups to stay informed and contribute to team success.
  • Keep detailed records of orders, pre-books, and product movement to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Monitor and understand daily/weekly product movement to optimize ordering and daily production needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, including code dating guidelines and removal of outdated products.
  • Ensure proper presentation by setting and filling all cases and displays according to corporate standards.
  • Manage daily production and usage of fresh baked items to maximize sales and control shrinkage.
  • Ensure quality standards by overseeing proofing, baking, recipe usage, and portion control of all products.
  • Ability to decorate cakes and/or oversee decorating to meet company standards.
  • Provide personnel support for the Bakery department, including feedback on teammate performance and recommendation/assistance with disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with store management on departmental policies, procedures, and merchandising plans to drive sales and profit.
  • Take responsibility for achieving financial goals, including sales, gross profit, payroll, and supplies.
  • Uphold all store and department policies as outlined in the Teammate Personnel handbook and other manuals provided.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by store or corporate management to contribute to overall store success.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Proficiency in cake decorating and a passion for creating visually appealing products.
  • Basic math, writing, and computer skills for inventory management and recordkeeping.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to upholding safety standards and ensuring a clean and sanitized work environment.
  • Equipment operations including but not limited to: computer, bread slicer, knives, proofer, hand wrapper, knives.
