PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Responsibilities:
Payroll:
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, and payroll deductions.
- Manage payroll workload to meet business and operational requirements.
- Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Communicate to new clients the timekeeping and invoicing process utilizing a Welcome letter email.
- Ensure invoicing contact information is correct in client's digital file.
- Acknowledge and process Employment Verifications, Child Support documents, Garnishments and other correspondence.
- Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Act as liaison between office and employees.
Unemployment:
- Receives unemployment claims and researches details concerning claims.
- Receives and responds to telephone, electronic and paper inquiries from claimants and state unemployment offices.
- Processes claims and any subsequent documentation in a timely manner, adhering to state-specific deadlines.
- Documents unemployment claims activities in spreadsheets and other systems.
- Maintains unemployment claim paperwork files and spreadsheets.
- Represents company in unemployment claims hearings.
- Identifies issues and concerns and reports to your manager.
- Applies principles of the Unemployment Compensation Act, the Unemployment Compensation Titles of the Federal Social Security Act and any other related regulations.
Accounts Receivable:
- Maintains an organized and efficient AR system.
- Follows up on outstanding invoices.
- Contacts delinquent clients via email or a phone call to discuss outstanding invoices.
- Summarizes weekly findings and communicates them to your manager.
- Protects companies’ value by keeping information confidential.
- Accomplishes companies’ goal in collecting on overdue accounts.

Qualifications:
- 1-3 years general accounting experience.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Proficient in Zoom calls.
- Working knowledge of Unemployment claims processing.
- Working knowledge of Accounts Receivables.
- Ability to manage and lead staff to excellent performance.
- Must have impeccable attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time-management ability.
- Good problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $19.50 per hour
