Arizona State University Library is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and innovative engineering librarian to build the Library’s connections to the students, faculty, and staff at ASU and in the Fulton Schools of Engineering. This is an ideal position for a collaborative and forward-thinking professional who is ready to join a team of librarians who are dedicated to diversity and to shaping the future of instructional support and research endeavors at ASU.

The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of scholarly information across fields in engineering and computer science and will connect researchers and learners to information and resources within and beyond the physical library. They will work with campus partners to build strong multidisciplinary relationships in support of research and student success. The incumbent will help define new services, develop programs, and serve as a resource for scholarly communication, research data management, and information literacy. The Engineering Librarian is expected to engage in service and scholarly activities.  ASU Library strongly encourages early-career librarians to apply.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Masters’ degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program by the hire date.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline or related field
  • Educational or work experience in engineering with particular interest in computer science, medical device design, or biomedical engineering
  • Familiarity with finding and using patents, engineering standards, and technical reports in engineering practice and engineering education
  • Library experience providing services and support to engineering disciplines
  • Experience providing reference consultations and instructional services
  • Demonstrated understanding of the research process and data lifecycle in engineering
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to work creatively and effectively both independently and as a team member
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Salary and Rank: This is a Continuing Appointment track Academic Professional position; Assistant/Associate Librarian rank and salary dependent upon experience.
