Senior Specialist, Talent Acquisition
Work closely with management on all diversity initiatives involving recruitment to ensure fairness in hiring practices. Use various methods to recruit and network with potential candidates in the U.S. and internationally, including social media platforms, networking events, and job fairs. Provide management oversight over the Specialist, Talent Acquisition. Ensure proper onboarding for new domestic and international hires. Conduct preliminary interviews with recruits to gauge interest, personality, and salary requirements.
As our Senior Specialist, Talent Acquisition (Senior Recruiter), you will be responsible for leading recruiting and sourcing strategy for the organization, while also playing a hands-on roll in day-to-day recruiting. You will be responsible for managing and providing general oversight of the Specialist, Talent Acquisition. You will ensure the continual building of a quality candidate pipeline to facilitate efficient placement of top-quality candidates for both domestic and international positions in current and future openings. You will triage and assign newly opened positions to yourself and the Specialist, Talent Acquisition. You will maintain your own pipeline of open positions, serving as lead recruiter for these roles. This position is primarily a senior recruiter position, with management oversight and strategic recruiting responsibilities.
This is a remote friendly position, that requires the employee to reside within the DC, Maryland or Northern Virigina area. As there is required occasional in-person attendance at the office, typically up to 8 or more times a year. Some of these on-site requirements may be requested on short notice.

- Lead the recruiting function for the organization for both domestic and international positions
- Actively engage with management to identify priority recruiting positions
- Provide support and communication to ensure managers can maximize their results.
- Develop and lead APHL's national and international recruiting strategies, identifying efficiencies, process improvements, and additional resources to support recruiting within the organization
- Participate in reviewing all online applications and assist in identifying qualified resumes for hiring managers for their review
- Monitor, track, and communicate changes in compliance regulations at the federal, state, and local level related to recruiting and applicant data
- Keep record of Recruiting and industry trends, statistics and local/national unemployment rates
- Provide management and supervision to the Specialist, Talent Acquisition
- Monitor, track, and report on key recruiting KPI's on a regular basis
- Set and monitor goals for the Specialist, Talent Acquisition consistent with APHL organizational priorities
- Assist in implementing positive marketing, recruiting, and retention strategies and programs.
- Maintain recruiting sources by region, e.g., local resources, industry associations, recruiting events, universities/colleges, etc.
- Work with internal stakeholders and hiring managers to identify proactive recruitment strategies that ensures an active pipeline of qualified candidates for recurring open positions
- Developing candidate pool through networking, direct recruiting efforts, Internet sourcing, referrals, etc.
- Assist managers with arranging interview schedules for candidates when required.
- Coordinate pre-hire documents
- Consistent communication with appropriate internal personnel regarding the status of open positions and candidates.
- Manage applicant tracking system and recruiting technology processes and procedures
- Participate in job fairs and other college-recruiting events as required.
- Maintain resume database per APHL requirements.
- Any other duties assigned or directed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous work experience in full lifecycle recruiting (4-8 years).
- Previous management oversight experience of at least 1 direct report
- An advanced degree may be substituted for work experience.
- Experience recruiting for international positions is highly desired

- Ability to work a schedule during normal work hours Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with flexibility to accommodate international time zones and after-hours recruiting calls as needed.
APHL requires all employees to travel to the Home Office in Silver Spring, MD twice a year to attend APHL Week. Travel and lodging for this event will be paid for by APHL.
